Vedana Lagoon at a glance

Vedana Lagoon Resort & Spa is a 5-star resort of 95 rooms and villas spread over a 27-hectare forested headland in Cau Hai Lagoon, in Phu Loc, about 40 km south of central Hue. Its strength is the water: over-water villas on their own jetties and a 50-meter infinity pool facing the lagoon. Its limit is distance — anything beyond the grounds needs a car or the daily shuttle.

It fits couples and families who want two to four quiet nights between Hue and Hoi An, rather than travelers who want to stroll out to dinner.

Why guests choose Vedana Lagoon

Three things tip most guests toward booking here, and each one is something you can check before you go.

Over-water villa with slate-grey roof and a turquoise plunge pool on its deck, more villas and jetties behind

Sleep over the water

The over-water villas stand on posts in the lagoon, each reached by its own straight timber jetty. The newer Water Pool Villas add a private infinity pool about 6.3 by 2.5 meters on the deck.

Long infinity pool at dusk reflecting villas on stilts and a pink sky over the lagoon

A 50-meter pool on the lagoon edge

The Twilight infinity pool runs about 50 by 9 meters along the shore, open 7 am to 7 pm, with the piano lounge beside it from 3:30 pm. On cool days the indoor pool, The Blue, is heated.

Sunset over a calm lagoon with dark hills and a small pavilion on the water

Quiet, forest and sunsets

The 27-hectare grounds cover a wooded headland at the foot of the Bach Ma hills, well away from Highway 1. Evenings are about the light going down behind the hills across the water.

Which room to book at Vedana Lagoon

For most couples, the Water Pool Villa is the one to book: you sleep over the lagoon and swim in your own pool. Hillside villas trade the water for space and forest privacy, while Lagoon View Deluxe rooms are the simpler way in.

Villa prices move with the season, the villa type and what each rate bundles in. The booking page shows the live figure and the villas still open on your nights.

01 · WHAT EACH RATE ADDS

Some rates bundle an airport shuttle, a spa treatment or an afternoon cocktail. Read what each line adds, not only the total.

02 · TRADITIONAL OR MODERN

Water Pool Villas come in two styles and two sizes. If the style matters to you, book the rate that names it.

03 · VILLA NAMES

The booking page uses a few villa names the resort does not. Match them by size and pool — our villa guide lines them up.

Where is Vedana Lagoon?

Vedana Lagoon sits on its own headland at the southern edge of Cau Hai Lagoon, 2 km off Highway 1 at Phu Loc and about 40 km south of Hue. There is nothing to walk to beyond the grounds, so plan on the free Hue and beach shuttles, the resort car or a taxi for everything else.

Is Vedana Lagoon right for you?

A lagoon resort this far from town is a great choice for some trips and the wrong one for others. Here is how to tell.

A good fit if you

  • want to sleep over the water, with your own jetty and pool
  • plan two to four slow nights of pools, spa and kayaking between Hue and Hoi An
  • travel with children and want a kids club plus a heated indoor pool
  • like quiet evenings in a big, green resort with no traffic around it

Look elsewhere if you

  • want a beach outside your door — the nearest is a 20 km shuttle ride
  • plan to sightsee in Hue every day — that is 45–60 minutes each way
  • mind insects or slopes — there are mosquitoes at dusk and no lifts

Vedana Lagoon FAQ: what guests ask before they book

Thirty-six answers on shuttles, villas, pools, food and the rainy season — drive times measured, resort policies read, gaps marked. Facts checked October 2026.

Location & getting there6

Where exactly is Vedana Lagoon — in Hue, Lang Co or Da Nang?

Vedana Lagoon is in Phu Loc, on the southern shore of Cau Hai Lagoon, roughly halfway between Hue and Da Nang. Central Hue is about 40 km north, Lang Co about 27 km south and Da Nang airport about 60 km away. Since July 2025 the address reads 41/23 Doan Trong Truyen Street, Phu Loc Commune, Hue City. The resort calls its water Tam Giang Lagoon; Cau Hai is the southern half of that same lagoon system.

Which airport is closer to Vedana Lagoon, Hue or Da Nang?

Phu Bai Airport (HUI) in Hue is closer: 26 km by road, about 30 minutes. Da Nang International Airport (DAD) is about 60 km south through the Hai Van road tunnel, roughly an hour to an hour and a quarter depending on traffic. Da Nang has far more international flights, so many guests land there and accept the longer drive.

How much is the airport transfer to Vedana Lagoon?

The resort car was listed at about USD 52 per car each way in October 2026, available around the clock if you book 48 hours ahead. A metered taxi from Phu Bai runs about VND 500,000–550,000, based on mid-2025 reports. Some rates on the booking page include an airport shuttle in the price, so read the rate name before you pick the cheapest line.

Is there a free shuttle from Vedana Lagoon to Hue city?

Yes. Staying guests can ride a free daily shuttle that leaves the resort at 9:30 am and drops near the Imperial City and the Tropical Garden restaurant at 27 Chu Van An Street. It heads back from Tropical Garden at 3:30 pm, which gives you about five hours in town. Book at least 12 hours ahead; the shuttle cannot be used for arriving or leaving.

Will a taxi driver know how to find Vedana Lagoon?

Not always by its English name. The resort itself suggests carrying a printed map. Show the driver the street address — Doan Trong Truyen Street, Phu Loc — and say it is the resort on the lagoon about 2 km off Highway 1. If you book the resort car or a pre-arranged transfer, the driver already knows the way.

Is Vedana Lagoon too remote for sightseeing?

For daily sightseeing in Hue, yes. The Imperial City and the royal tombs are 45 to 60 minutes away by car, and Hoi An is close to an hour and a half. Nearer trips are easy: the Bach Ma National Park turn-off is 2 km away, Elephant Springs and Canh Duong Beach about 20 km. Most guests treat Vedana Lagoon as a two-to-four-night rest stop rather than a touring base.

Rooms & villas6

What is the difference between a Water Villa and a Water Pool Villa at Vedana Lagoon?

Both stand over the lagoon on posts with their own jetty. The Water Villa is about 130 m², one of the original villas with a red-brown tiled roof, a big terrace and a freestanding marble tub, but no pool. The Water Pool Villa is about 160–170 m² and adds a private infinity pool of roughly 6.3 by 2.5 meters; it comes in a Traditional style and a Modern style with a glass floor panel over the water.

Should I book a water villa or a hillside pool villa at Vedana Lagoon?

Book a water villa if the lagoon and the sunset are the point of the trip: you are close to the main pools, spa and restaurants. Book a Hillside Pool Villa if you want more space and privacy: it measures about 210 m² with a 9 by 4.5 meter pool, set in forest on the slope, with lagoon and mountain views. The trade-off is a climb or a buggy ride down to the center.

What is the entry-level room at Vedana Lagoon, and is it worth it?

The Lagoon View Deluxe is the simplest category: about 45 m² (48 m² with the balcony), in a two-story building right on the embankment, with a freestanding tub and an outdoor shower. There is no private pool, so you share the three resort pools. For one or two nights, or if most of your days are out on trips, it gives you the same grounds and views for less.

Which Vedana Lagoon villas fit a family or a group?

The two-bedroom villas — Water Pool (350 m²), Hillside Pool (515 m²) and Lagoon View (145 m²) — sleep up to four adults plus children. The Three-Bedroom Hillside Pool Villa takes six adults, and the Four-Bedroom Hillside Pool Deluxe takes eight, each with a 9 by 3.3 meter pool. Both of those are two-story houses whose floors are not linked by an inside staircase, and the resort has no lifts.

Do Vedana Lagoon rooms have a bathtub and an outdoor shower?

Most categories do. The resort describes a freestanding tub plus an outdoor shower in the Lagoon View Deluxe, the water villas and the pool villas, and the Water Villa has a marble tub on its own. Every category has a balcony or terrace facing the lagoon, the forest or the mountains. Exact layouts vary from villa to villa, so photos on the booking page may differ from the one you get.

Are there connecting rooms at Vedana Lagoon?

Yes, two kinds. The Family Lagoon View is two connecting rooms of about 135 m² in total, and the Two-Bedroom Lagoon View Villa is two 72.5 m² rooms joined together, sleeping up to four adults plus children. Neither has a private pool. If you book two separate rooms instead, ask the resort to place them side by side — that is on request, not guaranteed.

Pools, lagoon & facilities5

How many pools does Vedana Lagoon have, and is one heated?

Three. The Cape pool near the restaurants is about 36 by 12 meters and the Twilight infinity pool along the lagoon about 50 by 9 meters; both open 7 am to 7 pm. The Blue is an indoor heated pool of about 14.4 by 3.6 meters, open 8 am to 7 pm, which matters in the cool months from December to February. Booking sites also list a shallow children’s pool.

Does Vedana Lagoon have a beach?

No. Vedana Lagoon sits on the lagoon, not the sea. The resort runs a free shuttle to Canh Duong Beach, about 20 km and 25 minutes away, leaving at 10:30 am and returning at 2 pm, only in good weather. Book it at least 12 hours ahead. If a day on the sand is a big part of your trip, Lang Co is about 30 minutes by car.

Can you swim in the lagoon at Vedana Lagoon?

Plan on swimming in the pools. The resort lists its three pools as the places to swim and does not promote swimming in the lagoon, and earlier guest reports describe brown, murky water near the shore. The lagoon is for looking at, paddling on and watching the sunset over. Kayaks are offered with staff on hand; ask at the front desk whether there is a charge.

What does the spa at Vedana Lagoon offer, and when is it open?

Vedana Wellness & Spa opens 9 am to 10 pm daily and needs a booking. It has treatment rooms in stilted pavilions, plus a jacuzzi, sauna and herbal steam room that are free when you book a treatment. Signature packages run from about two to five hours, including one with a Hue-style hair wash. Tai chi at 7:30 am and yoga at 8 am are free every day. Treatment prices are not published.

What else is there to do at Vedana Lagoon?

Bicycles for riding around the 27-hectare grounds, kayaks on the lagoon, tennis, and a free gym open 8 am to 10 pm. The Lantern House runs cooking classes, and the ARA Bird Garden keeps peacocks and parrots, including macaws. Laguna Lang Co golf course is about 20 km south. The resort also sells private tours to Hue, Bach Ma and Elephant Springs; prices are on request.

Food & drink4

What time is breakfast at Vedana Lagoon, and can I have it in my villa?

Breakfast is a Vietnamese and Western buffet at the DayBreak restaurant from 6:30 to 10 am. You can also have it served in your villa or room for a surcharge of VND 155,000 per person, for a minimum of two people. Whether breakfast is included at all depends on the rate you book — the booking page shows rates with and without it.

Which restaurants are open at Vedana Lagoon?

Horizon is the main restaurant, serving Asian and Western dishes from 10 am to 10:30 pm with lagoon views. The Twilight Piano Lounge pours drinks beside the infinity pool from 3:30 to 10 pm, the Cape restaurant sits by the Cape pool, and the Lantern House hosts cooking classes and light lunches. RainBow, a seafood restaurant over the water, was still listed as opening soon in October 2026.

Is food at Vedana Lagoon expensive, and can I eat outside the resort?

Guests often say menu prices are high next to local restaurants and that the choice narrows after a few days. Eating out takes a car: Phu Loc town is about 5 minutes away for simple Vietnamese food, and the seafood restaurants around Lang Co and Lap An Lagoon are about 30 minutes south. Ask the front desk to book a taxi there and back, especially after dark.

Can Vedana Lagoon cater for vegetarian or halal diets?

Vegetarian dishes appear on the menus, though some guests find the meat-free choice thin. Halal meals are not advertised. Both are on request — add a note to your booking and email the resort before you arrive so the kitchen can plan. If you are staying several nights, ask whether the cooking class can be built around vegetarian dishes.

Check-in & policies4

What are the check-in and check-out times at Vedana Lagoon?

Check-in is from 3 pm and check-out by 11 am, an hour earlier than many Vietnamese resorts. Early check-in and late check-out depend on what is free that day and may carry a charge. If you arrive on a morning flight, ask the resort to hold your bags and let you use the pools until the villa is ready — on request, not guaranteed.

Does Vedana Lagoon take a deposit at check-in?

Yes. The booking page lists a fixed deposit of VND 1,000,000, and the resort may ask for a card in the lead guest’s name to cover extras such as the minibar or spa. It is settled when you check out. Visa, MasterCard, JCB and American Express are accepted, and the front desk can also exchange currency.

Are pets allowed at Vedana Lagoon?

No. Vedana Lagoon does not accept pets in any room or villa. If you travel with a service animal, contact the resort before booking to confirm what they can arrange, because the over-water villas and jetties are not set up for animals. Pet boarding is not offered on site, so you would need to arrange care elsewhere in Hue or Da Nang.

Are Christmas, New Year or Tet dinners compulsory at Vedana Lagoon?

We found no published rule either way for Vedana Lagoon. Some Vietnamese resorts add a compulsory gala dinner on 24 and 31 December or a Tet surcharge, and it is usually shown in the rate conditions rather than in the room description. If you are booking over the holidays, read the conditions of your rate and ask the resort before you pay.

Families & children4

Do children stay free at Vedana Lagoon?

Children under 4 stay free when they share their parents’ bed. Children aged 4 to 9 pay a surcharge, and from age 10 they count as adults for occupancy and price. Cots are free, and an extra single bed can be added on request for a fee. Tell the resort the children’s ages when you book so the rate and bedding match.

Is there a kids club at Vedana Lagoon?

Yes. The Kids Club is on the ground floor of the Front Office building and opens 8 am to 8 pm daily, with toys and games. The resort does not publish an age range or say whether staff supervise, and babysitting is listed as a paid extra. Ask both questions before you arrive if you plan to leave children there while you go to the spa.

Are the water villas at Vedana Lagoon safe for toddlers?

They need constant watching. Water villas stand over open water on jetties with rope railings, and every pool villa has its own unfenced pool by the door. With toddlers, a Lagoon View Deluxe or the Two-Bedroom Lagoon View Villa, neither with a private pool, is simpler. If you still want a pool villa, ask the resort what safety options it can offer — on request only.

Is Vedana Lagoon easy with a pushchair or limited mobility?

Partly. The grounds cover 27 hectares, with slopes up to the hillside villas and timber jetties out to the water villas, and the resort has no lifts. Electric buggies carry guests between areas. The three- and four-bedroom villas are on two floors with no inside staircase between them. Ask for a ground-level Lagoon View room or a water villa close to the main buildings.

Need two bedrooms? See which family villas are open for your dates.See family villas ›
Practical4

Are there mosquitoes at Vedana Lagoon?

Yes, guests mention mosquitoes and other insects in the evening, mostly on waterside terraces and in the gardens around dusk. Bring repellent with DEET or picaridin, close the terrace doors before sunset and keep the lights low outside. Ask housekeeping for extra repellent or a plug-in device if you need one — on request, not guaranteed.

Can you get a Grab to or from Vedana Lagoon?

Do not count on it. We could not confirm regular ride-hailing cars around Phu Loc, which is a long way from the busy parts of Hue and Da Nang. For airports and stations, book the resort car or a private transfer ahead. For trips nearby, ask the front desk to call a taxi and arrange the return pickup at the same time.

Is there an ATM or a shop near Vedana Lagoon?

Not within walking distance. The resort exchanges currency and has a small gift shop, but ATMs, pharmacies and convenience stores are in Phu Loc town, about 4 km and 5 minutes away by car. Extras at the resort can be paid by Visa, MasterCard, JCB or American Express, so most guests only need a little cash for taxis and markets.

Is the Wi-Fi at Vedana Lagoon good enough for working?

Wi-Fi is free across the resort and fine for email and video calls most of the time, though some guest reports mention short dropouts in the villas. The resort leans into the idea of switching off, so it is not built around remote work. There are meeting rooms and an event hall; ask for a room near the main buildings if you need a steadier signal.

When to go3

What is the best month to stay at Vedana Lagoon?

March to August is the drier stretch, with calm water, long sunsets and the outdoor pools at their best; June to August is hot. February to April is milder and is when rhododendrons flower in nearby Bach Ma National Park. From September to February rain is frequent, but the heated indoor pool and the spa make a wet-season stay workable.

Does the area around Vedana Lagoon flood in the rainy season?

Heavy rain and floods are common in the Hue region in October and November. In late October 2025 a weather station in Bach Ma, just behind the resort, recorded a national record of 1,739.6 mm of rain in 24 hours. In that season the beach shuttle and outdoor activities can be cancelled and roads can close. Check the forecast and keep your dates flexible.

How far ahead should I book Vedana Lagoon?

Book early if you want one particular villa type over Tet, the 30 April to 1 May holiday, July and August, or Christmas and New Year. The larger villas exist in small numbers, so they are the first to go. Outside those periods a few weeks ahead is usually fine. A refundable rate lets you hold a villa while you finish planning.
